Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojana is a pilgrimage scheme launched by the Government of Madhya Pradesh under the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment. The scheme provides free pilgrimage tours to selected religious places for senior citizens of the state. The objective is to enable elderly citizens who cannot afford pilgrimage travel to visit important religious sites and fulfill their spiritual aspirations.
Eligibility
Senior citizens aged 60 years and above who are permanent residents of Madhya Pradesh are eligible. Priority is given to BPL families and those from SC, ST and OBC communities. Beneficiaries should not have availed the benefit earlier. The scheme covers both government and private sector retirees.
Benefits
Free pilgrimage tour covering transportation, accommodation, food and religious offerings. Popular destinations include Ram Janmabhoomi Ayodhya, Kashi Vishwanath, Tirupati, Puri Jagannath and other major religious sites in India. An attendant is also provided for senior citizens who need assistance.
How to Apply
Eligible senior citizens can apply through the District Social Justice Office or through the Madhya Pradesh government portal. Applications require basic personal details, age proof and residence certificate. Selection is done on a first-come-first-served basis with priority to specific categories.
