Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana is a flagship scheme of the Madhya Pradesh government launched by the Department of Women and Child Development. The scheme provides direct cash transfer of Rs 1,000 per month to eligible women in the state. It aims to empower women financially and improve their social status by providing a steady monthly income. The scheme is one of the most ambitious women welfare initiatives in central India.
Eligibility
Women who are permanent residents of Madhya Pradesh aged between 21 and 60 years are eligible. The annual family income should be less than Rs 2.5 lakh. Women who are already receiving other government pensions or benefits above Rs 1,000 per month are not eligible. The scheme covers women from all castes and communities.
Benefits
Eligible women receive Rs 1,000 per month directly in their bank account through DBT. The amount can be used for any household expenses, healthcare, education of children or personal needs. The scheme provides financial independence to women and reduces their dependency on male family members.
How to Apply
Women can apply through the official portal or visit the nearest Anganwadi center or Janpad Panchayat office. The application requires basic personal details, family income certificate and bank account information. After verification at the village level, the application is approved and the monthly transfer begins.
