Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) guarantees 100 days of wage employment per year to every rural household. Launched in 2005, it is administered by the Ministry of Rural Development.
How to Apply
Visit your local Gram Panchayat office with Aadhaar card and apply for a Job Card. The job card is issued within 15 days of application.
Wages
Wages are paid as per the minimum wage rate fixed by the central government. Payment is made directly to the beneficiaries bank account through DBT.
