How to Check MahaDBT Post Matric Scholarship Status
The MahaDBT Post Matric Scholarship is given to students of Maharashtra from SC, ST, OBC, VJNT, SBC and minority communities who continue their education after Class 12. Once you submit your application on the MahaDBT portal, you can track its progress online from home. This guide explains the official status check process in simple steps.
Before you begin, keep your application ID or the mobile number and password you registered with on the MahaDBT portal ready. The status check is done on the same portal where you applied.
Step-by-Step Status Check
- Open the official MahaDBT portal at mahadbt.maharashtra.gov.in on your browser.
- Go to the Student section and click on Login.
- Enter your registered mobile number and password, or use the OTP login option if available.
- After login, open the My Application or Application Status option from the dashboard.
- Enter your application ID and click on Search or View Status.
- The page will show the current stage of your application, such as submitted, under verification or sanctioned.
If you do not remember your password, use the Forgot Password option on the login page. A reset link or OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.
What Each Application Status Means
- Submitted: Your application has reached the department and is waiting for verification.
- Under Verification: The office is checking your documents, bank details and eligibility.
- Approved / Sanctioned: Your application has been approved and the scholarship amount will be sent to your bank account.
- Rejected: Some detail did not match. Check the reason on the portal and correct it before the next window.
Why Applications Get Rejected
- Incorrect or incomplete caste certificate details.
- Bank account number or IFSC not matching with Aadhaar records.
- Missing annual income proof or income above the eligible limit.
- Applying for a course that is not covered under the scholarship.

Renewal of Post Matric Scholarship
Students who received the scholarship in the previous year must renew it every year. Renewal is done on the same MahaDBT portal using your student login. The renewal application usually asks for your previous year marksheet and the continuation of your course. Complete the renewal before the last date shown on the portal, otherwise your scholarship for the new year may be delayed.
Payment and Bank Details
The scholarship amount is transferred directly to the student's own bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer. Keep your bank account active and Aadhaar-seeded, because a dormant account or mismatched IFSC is one of the most common reasons for failed payments. If your payment does not arrive after approval, check the payment status on the portal and confirm your bank details are correct.
